Exporting your Data
Exporting your organisation’s data from iplicit is straightforward, but it’s important to follow best practices to ensure data completeness, security, and compliance. This guide walks you through the process, highlights what you can export, and provides tips for smoothly exporting your data.
iplicit allows you to export your organisation’s data using authored and custom enquiries and also export options that can be found in most finders. These options are useful for regular data backups or when preparing to leave the platform. For details on how iplicit backs up your data, refer to the Back up policy.
Understand what Data you can Export
Data in iplicit can be exported via the
Export to Excel button, available in most enquiries and finders. This option generates an Excel file (.xlsx) that downloads automatically to your system.

Recommended Data to Export
We recommend exporting the following to provide a complete and historical view of your financial data -
Tip
Your user role and permissions may affect what data you can export. Ensure you have the necessary access rights.
Bank reconciliation - details of the last bank reconciliation (reconciled balance and unmatched items).
VAT Returns - last VAT Return.
Data not available through the UI or larger volumes of data, may need to be exported by the iplicit team. Please submit a data export ticket using our Support system and allow a few days for the request to be completed.
How to Export Data
Navigate to the relevant enquiry or finder in iplicit.
Click the Export to Excel button (usually represented by the
icon).Download the generated file to your system.
Repeat for each area you wish to export.
Considerations
Data Security: Ensure exported files are stored securely and comply with data protection regulations.
Data Completeness: Ensure the filters and parameters used in the finders and enquiries are configured correctly to export the required data, including options to include closed items. Double-check that all necessary data (including historical transactions and reports) have been exported.
Format Compatibility: Your data is exported in the form of CSV and Excel (.xlxs) files which are widely supported for migration to other platforms.
Access after Cancellation: You will have 14 days to access your data after cancellation of your contract. After that, it will be deleted permanently.
